A Farewell to 2023

Just two days ago, on Christmas Day, I celebrated the first anniversary of getting my first prompt accepted on Promptbase. Yay! Today, I rank 10th on the market, despite half of my portfolio being archived and waiting for the day when I bring them back to life.

My AI journey was full of ups and downs

From discovering perfectly unique prompts and falling in love to one day waking up to find them not working anymore. Maybe it’s just bad luck, or maybe I’m not the greatest prompt artist out there. No matter the reason, it made me sad and frustrated that my personal favorites and best sellers simply stopped working, and no matter how I tweaked and twisted the words, the results were not satisfying.

It escalated to the point where I canceled my Midjourney subscription and stopped prompting for three whole months. Yikes. Only recently did I return to Midjourney and start to play with version 5.2 and the tuner. But it was DALLE 3 that reignited the spark of inspiration and brought me back to making AI art. But more on that in a future post…

These are some of the prompts I loved, that just don’t produce the same results anymore:

But I don’t want to focus on the bad;

I want to acknowledge the good. For me, the best benefit of my AI journey has been rediscovering art again, from a completely different point of view. You know, I am a traditional artist, but I haven’t created anything in years. I was suffering from a huge creative block, but with the help of prompting, my imagination started to run wild again, and I began to paint again in real life too. Maybe someday I’ll share what I do when I’m taking a break from AI.

The second best thing was that I got to be a part of the prompt artist community and met some amazingly talented people online. I’m especially happy that I got to know Chromie and MayReeseDunn, two amazing women and fellow Promptbase sellers. We had super fun times and laugh-out-loud moments prompting together. I hope that we can get back to our prompt trains someday. They’re amazing people, and I’m so lucky I met them.

DALLE 3: Create a close-up photorealistic image of a cosmic female shaman, capturing the ethereal and mystical essence inspired by visionary art and psytrance aesthetics. Focus on UV-reactive paints and holographic glitters to accentuate the intricate details of the shaman’s face paint and headdress. Highlight the rich textures and materials such as feathers and jewels. The color scheme should emphasize ultraviolet, iridescent white, and electric purple to convey a transcendent and hypnotic mood. The shaman’s expression should be serene and in a trance-like state, inviting a sense of deep contemplation and connection with the cosmos.

The third benefit? A ridiculous amount of amazing images; I have no idea what to do with them all. It might be prime time to start selling prints and POD products. Who knows what the future holds? I will be taking the rest of the year off to reflect, dream, and plan for the future. 45,500 images later, all I want to say is thank you for this wonderful experience.

See you next year!
